TCA ramps up telematics tutelage

Series of videos to help inform national framework stakeholders

Transport Certification Australia (TCA) has provided additional resources for parties using telematics with the launch of four informational videos on the National Telematics Framework (NTF).

The framework facilitates the creation and use of offerings and applications by administering standardised infrastructure rules.

The information provided by videos explains:

  • about the National Telematics Framework
  • the framework as a digital business platform
  • levels of assurance available through the framework
  • National Telematics Framework documents.

The telematics and intelligent technologies body says the NTF is a government-endorsed platform that manages the relationships and interactions between producers, providers and consumers.

“The videos provide a way to explain and communicate the principles of the National Telematics Framework,” TCA chief executive officer Chris Koniditsiotis adds.

“By doing so, we underline the importance of having common business rules – that provide producers, providers and consumers with consistency, clarity and certainty – which are necessary to support an open technology market.”

The TCA says the videos complement the updated suite of NTF documents, which were released in July 2018, to provide greater clarity to producers, providers and consumers.

The documents include: National Telematics Framework; Telematics Data Dictionary; Levels of Assurance; Business Rules; Telematics Data Exchange; Application Builder.
