IPS Logistics strengthens hold at Brisbane port

Hub lease extended with additional hardstand in mix

Integrated bulk transport and container logistics firm IPS Logistics has signed a 10-year lease extension on 60,288 square metres and an additional 10,000 sq m hardstand at its port of Brisbane logistics hub.

The deal, with international logistics property specialist Logos, springs from growing demand for full container storage and hubbing at the port.

“As a business focused on containerised transport, warehousing and distribution activities for a wide range of imported and exported products across various sectors, location and access to key infrastructure is critical,” IPS Logistics CEO Darren Allen says.

“Being located just a few hundred metres from the stevedores, we offer our customers a safe cost effective service that is second to none.

“Our new hardstand capability means we can ensure quick turnaround for our transport partners and provide enough area to handle even the largest of our clients needs.

“Our lease extension and additional space commitment is a great milestone for IPS and we look forward to continuing our growth as a market leader in Port based supply chain solutions.”

IPS Logistics runs a fleet of Super B-doubles for container transport particularly for short haul around the port precinct, between the warehouses and terminals.

The 21-year-old firm that started operations in Narrabri as Inland Packing & Storage also owns a fleet of B-doubles, for intrastate and interstate linehaul services.

IPS linked with Macquarie Capital-backed Logos at the port in 2016 in a deal estimated at about $60 million

“We’re very pleased to be able to continue to support IPS Logistics as they grow their service offering at the Port of Brisbane logistics hub, providing them with a quality facility and new hardstand area that has immediate access to inbound logistics and Queensland’s key road infrastructure,” Logos head of Australia and New Zealand Darren Searle says.

The property company has been busy in south-east Queensland recently, having announced in August it would develop Toll’s Gold Coast logistics hub.

That project involves an initial 12-year pre-lease on a 10,250 sq m cross dock, regional logistics facility, which will service Toll’s Gold Coast and northern NSW customers. The pre-commitment marks the first stage of development works on the 22 hectare facility and follows its 2016 70,000 sq m deal at Prestons with Logos.

The property firm also helped eStore Logistics with its Sydney property needs.
