Fuso tackles toughness with Melbourne Storm initiative

OEM seeks to recognise resilience and spirit of individuals

Fuso has partnered with reigning NRL premiers Melbourne Storm for the recent launch of the ‘OF US’ initiative, which acknowledged mental and physical toughness.

The OF US name was derived from ‘FUSO’ and featured on the Melbourne Storm jerseys in their match against St. George Illawarra Dragons last week.

“At Fuso, we’re known for our tough trucks – but toughness comes in many forms,” Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation director Justin Whitford says.

“OF US was created to acknowledge individuals who have shown undeniable toughness in the face of adversity and to highlight the importance of support groups.”

OF US celebrates fans that show toughness both on and off the field, with Storm fans asked to nominate someone in their life as a ‘tough one’ for the chance to win a Mate’s Day experience.

Ex-police officer and Kilmore local Scott Garbutt was selected as Melbourne Storm’s ‘tough one’ after being nominated by his wife, for showing toughness on a daily basis while coping with PTSD.

The Mates’ Day experience was hosted by the Storm and Scott and three guests met the players and scored tickets to sit on the players’ bench.

“At Melbourne Storm it’s not just about making an impact on the field, but away from it too in conjunction with our partners,” says Melbourne Storm CEO, Dave Donaghy.

The signed OF US jersey is being auctioned off to the public with funds raised being donated to the Storm’s charity partner, LIVIN.
