Skazlic, Divall join ATA board

K&S Freighters HS&E boss Simon Skazlic and Divall's Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage MD Andy Divall to help lead ATA

The owner of an earthmoving and bulk haulage company and the health and safety boss of a large transport organisation have joined the board of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA), taking its membership to 12.

ATA chairman Geoff Crouch said new board members Andy Divall and Simon Skazlic both had “vast experience” in the trucking industry.

Divall is owner and managing director of Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage, based in Goulburn, New South Wales. He established the company in 1991, with his brother Michael, and has since diversified company operations to better meet the needs of the local community.

Skazlic is executive general manager of health, safety and environment compliance with K&S Freighters, having first joined the company in 1990, and leads industry committees to develop best practice guidelines to prevent loading and unloading accidents, and guidelines to keep drivers and repairers safe at the site of breakdowns.

Having also been a member of the ATA Council since 2003, he was also the winner of the ATA’s Don Watson Memorial Award in 2013 for his conspicuous service to the trucking industry.

The men join Crouch, vice chairs David Smith and Austin Vella, secretary Andrew Garrety, Sharon Middleton, David Simon, Tim Knowles, Kathy Williams, Geoff Luff and immediate past chair Noelene Watson on the board.
