WA awards fleet tenders

Fleetcare, Pinpoint, Ezy2c and Mix Telematics among winners in WA vehicle fleet tenders

Four different companies will provide telematics services to the Western Australian government after it retendered its fleet services contract this year.

Fleetcare, Pinpoint Communications, Ezy2c and MiX Telematics will jointly provide the state’s vehicle fleet with in-vehicle monitoring services after winning a tender put out as part of the 2017-18 state budget process.

Fleetcare was also awarded the fleet management services contract for the state, after all contracts were awarded late last week – at the expense of SG Fleet Group, which announced to the Australian Securities Exchange yesterday that its contract would end in July.

SG Fleet said it had managed about 7,500 vehicles for the government, but added that this had only made up about 0.47 per cent of its revenue over the last 12 months.

“Neither the loss of revenue nor the loss of income is material in the context of SG Fleet’s financial performance,” the company says.

“However, due to the public nature of the contract in question, SG Fleet has opted to issue an announcement to the Australian Securities Exchange on this occasion.”

Other tender winners include ARB Corporation and TJM Products for Aftermarket Vehicle Accessories, Poolcar for vehicle booking systems and Pickles Auctions, which won the tender for both motor vehicle inspection services and motor vehicle disposal services

Bridgestone Australia and Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres will provide tyre supply and fitting services to the state, pending further negotiations, according to documents released by the WA Department of Finance.

Further negotiations were also pending on the MiX Telematics tender, the documents said.
