SA police release partial operation results

Trucks pulled over in northern Adelaide but number not given

South Australian road authorities have undertaken a truck safety operation at Dry Creek.

But, while giving the numbers of contraventions, no figure can be given for the number of vehicles pulled over, a state police spokesman tells ATN.

Road Policing Section members, along with inspectors from the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) were involved.

The operation was conducted for nearly five hours on Churchill Road North at Dry Creek, with 22 expiation notices issued — 17 fines, five cautions — for various offences including unsecure loads and licence breaches, police state.

There were 41 defects issued, with 22 classed as major.

“Four drivers tested positive to drugs, and two were reported for driving unlicenced and a severe load restraint breach,” a police statement reads.
