Kelly to speak at ComVec 2018 opening

Host HVIA pleased with its choice of industry ambassador

Western Australian transport innovator Urszula Kelly will feature as a guest speaker at this year’s ComVec conference in Melbourne.

Kelly, who is the founder and MD of UC Logistics Australia, won the Young Professional of the Year Award at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA) National Excellence in Transport and Logistics Awards last year.

“With over 10 years of experience from both Europe and Australia, Urszula is pursuing her passion of improving the industry through safety, innovation, commitment, accountability and transparency,” conference organiser Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) states.

“She is a passionate supporter and promoter of small fleet operators, and with a willingness to speak out on key issues, has quickly established respect amongst her peers.”

HVIA chief executive Todd Hacking says the ComVec conference is the “perfect place to showcase the synergies between the two organisations, and with the perfect industry ambassador in Urszula Kelly”.

“Urszula has made an enormous impact as a young influencer, promoting and advocating for the road transport industry, with a determination to explore opportunities for the industry to evolve, whether through new technologies, better training, improving industry image or updated practices,” he says.

“It has been exciting to see Urszula diving deep into some major issues, and impressive how well she articulates her thoughtful insights.

“With people like this stepping up to the plate, it should certainly give us all heart that the future is in good hands.”

Move – People Driven Banking has partnered with HVIA to present a cocktail networking event at the conclusion of the first day.

“Move – People Driven Banking were also sponsors of the CILTA Awards where Urszula was recognised with the Young Professional of the Year Award,” Hacking explains.

“We clearly share common values.

“The heavy vehicle industry exists to service the road transport industry, by offering the safest and most productive means for them to do their business, and innovative solutions to their challenges.

“Move provide a level of personal service that most people thought had disappeared last millennium.

“Through their financial literacy programs, they are helping our members, and indeed all of their customers, to secure their futures.”

Move chief executive Therese Turner says the conference is perfectly aligned with the bank’s goals.

“The theme behind ComVec is all about sharing knowledge and insights; encouraging these amazing innovators to keep pushing boundaries, and to listen and partner with their customers to address their challenges,” Turner says.

“We found that value proposition to be irresistible, and we’re delighted to be able to host Urszula to speak at the event.

“I’m sure that ComVec delegates will always find it inspiring to hear a transport operator’s perspective; Urszula, adds a special dimension, with courage to challenge the norms, and with vision that shakes the shackles of conformity, you’re bound to find some really valuable takeaways.

“I’m looking forward to meeting all the delegates in Melbourne.”
