Mazurek made chief executive of Linfox Logistics

He replaces Carey, who will move into a non-executive director role next month

Senior leader Mark Mazurek will replace Annette Carey as the CEO of Linfox Logistics’ Australia and New Zealand business next month.

After close to four years into the role of full time chief executive, Carey has moved on to a non-executive director position on the company board.

Linfox executive chairman Peter Fox says the appointments reflect “renewal of leadership” to meet customer needs.

“Our industry is evolving and we are well-positioned for future growth,” Fox says.

Since joining the company in 2006, Mazurek has held many senior leadership roles.

Most recently, he “transformed the Intermodal business unit, making it sustainable and successful and led the resources and industrial business unit through an important transition phase,” the company states.

“Mark has been central to the acquisition of Aurizon assets in Northern Queensland and the development of strategic facilities such as our new Darwin railhead,” Fox says.

“Mark brings exceptional operational acumen along with new thinking and energy.

“In the past 12 months, Linfox has renewed its leadership team and we will continue to do this as the industry develops to ensure that we meet the needs of our customers.”

During her tenure as the CEO of the Logistics division, Carey helped the company exceed its financial, new business and safety targets year on year, Linfox states.

Most recently, she implemented the Linfox 2020 Strategy, oversaw the acquisitions of BevChain and Aurizon, and repositioned Linfox’s IT strategy, the company notes.

“Annette joins the Board as Linfox continues its growth following recent acquisitions,” Fox says.

“Her appointment reflects the value Annette brings to Linfox and the respect in which Annette is held by both Linfox and the industry.

“I thank her for her time as CEO and welcome her as a Non-Executive Director to the Board.”

The changes will be effective from February 1.
