Sadliers to power eastern expansion with IT upgrade

Company to push on in Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane

Western Australian transport and logistics force Sadliers Group has eastern expansion in mind.

And the firm is looking to underpin such effort with an information technology overhaul focused on Oracle services to be completed by May.

Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide are its focus but it wants to implement a fully integrated end-to-end Oracle Cloud solution first, using Australia and New Zealand Oracle partner firm PrimeQ to implement the change.

“Sadleirs’ growth strategy involves doubling the business in a relatively short period of time with our existing personnel ,” Sadleirs CEO Ian Kent says.

“To achieve this, we need to transform our current IT infrastructure.

“We have many disparate legacy systems in the business and historically this has restricted our ability to grow. We are now seeking to streamline and enhance our customer experience and have engaged PrimeQ to provide a ‘best in breed’ Oracle solution.”

PrimeQ will implement the Oracle Cloud solution incorporating Oracle Customer Experience (CX), Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Warehouse Management (WMS), Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) and Oracle Cloud Business Intelligence.

Kent says the aim is “to better streamline and automate processes, and extract an increased level of business intelligence that will help us deliver on our customers’ expectations”.

PrimeQ CEO Andrew McAdams says Sadleirs would be able to offer a significantly enhanced customer experience by moving its transportation management system to the Cloud.

“The logistics industry in Australia is typically characterised by older information technology,” McAdams adds.

“By replacing its legacy system with a cloud-based solution, Sadleirs will benefit from lower capital costs and rapid implementation times as well as greater delivery efficiencies.

“These efficiencies will extend across all areas of the Sadleirs business, from the streamlining and optimisation of fleet through to the automating of administrative activities.”
