Viva Energy postpones Aratula facility opening

Ex-Cyclone Debbie intervenes, wth new date of inauguration to be announced later

Viva Energy has announced plans to delay the grand opening of its new service station in Aratula owing to severe weather conditions in Queensland and New South Wales.

The fuel company will announce a new date for the opening in due course.

The $4 million facility was initially due to be inaugurated tomorrow.

Viva Energy and Shell have pledged to donate $5,000 to Boonah’s State Emergency Service (SES) to assist in the “massive” clean-up in the aftermath of the storm.

“Viva Energy and Shell apologise for the inconvenience and our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted by the storms,” a company statement says.
