Trailing equipment manufacturer MaxiTrans is on the look-out for a new MD after Michael Brockhoff announced his intention to retire.

Brockhoff, who started in the position in June 2000, will stay on until a replacement is found.

"Michael has made an enormous contribution to MaxiTrans over the past 16 years and managing director," company chairman Robert Wylie says.

"He has been instrumental in building a business of significant scale and geographic scope to compete effectively in our chosen markets in trailers, parts and components.

"He has also been a strong advocate for the road transport industry and on behalf of the board."

For his part, Brockhoff says the time is right for him to retire.

"The business has changed significantly over that time, through a services of acquisitions and other growth initiatives which together have created a strong strategic platform for the company," he adds.
