Ontime Group GM Walter Scremin says boutique operators with specialist industry expertise can have an edge on bigger transport providers.

Transport and logistics firm Ontime Group has signed two separate fleet service contracts with Goodyear and Burson Auto Parts.

While Ontime has had a 25-year relationship with Burson Victoria, the new contract will be the first collaboration between the two businesses in Queensland.

"We are very proud to have had a long relationship with Burson, and we look forward to assisting their fleet management program in Brisbane," Ontime Group GM Walter Scremin says.

Scremin adds that the company’s Goodyear deal in Sydney indicates that boutique operators with specialist industry expertise can have an edge on larger providers.

"Sometimes there are benefits to using smaller companies over huge multinationals, including the ability to specialise in a certain area, to be more responsive, and to offer more personalised service," he says.

"Ontime knows the automotive sector well. We understand the efficiency, service levels and technology required for success.

"Service is king in this industry and if you don’t perform, clients simply use the opposition in what is a highly competitive market."

Ontime offers transport services for companies that either run their own vehicles and drivers, or require deliveries within the capital cities of Australia.
