Noske Logistics comes under Chas Kelly wing

Administrator strikes deal to sell Noske Logistics to the Chas Kelly Transport Group

Tasmanian transport kingpin Chas Kelly has saved the financially troubled Noske Logistics under a deal that guarantees the jobs of most of the company’s employees.

Noske administrator PPB Advisory announced in a statement today it had successfully sold the business and its assets to Kelly logistics, which is part of the broader Chas Kelly Transport Group.

Noske provides long-haul, short-haul and bluegum woodchip loading and haulage transport solutions, while Kelly Logistics provides a range of specialist transport services.

The sale marks a quick turnaround in the fortunes of Noske, which went into voluntary administration in early September.

PPB Advisory says the sale guarantees the jobs of 67 full-time employees and 71 casual employees at Noske’s Victorian operations at Brighton, Geelong and Portland.

Kelly Logistics has taken on responsibility for employee entitlements, except superannuation.

“We are pleased that the sale preserves the continuity of service for customers and secures ongoing employment for the majority of the company’s employees,” PPB Advisory partner David McEvoy says.

“This is a positive result for employees and customers and we are confident that the company will have a successful future under its new owners.”

McEvoy has thanked Noske stakeholders, saying their support throughout the process was instrumental in keeping the company going.
