Air con transport company slips into administration

ARoy Transport Hauliers continues to trade but administrator warns it is a day-by-day proposition

A small family-owned air conditioning transport company has been placed into administration.

Brisbane-based ARoy Transport Hauliers entered the arrangement voluntarily on August 24, with the first meeting of creditors due today.

Administrator Gavin Moss, of Vincents Chartered Accountants, says he is pleased to continue trading the business, giving its six workers, mostly part of the owning family, ongoing employment and the business a greater chance of survival.

The company has two vehicles, both of which are being utilised during the administration. There is one secured creditor but Morris says it is yet to make contact.

Still, he says, continued trading is a “day-to-day proposition”.

More will be known after the administrator’s report is finalised in mid-September.

A second creditors meeting after that will decide the fate of the 23-year old company, which specialises in transport services for the air conditioning industry.
