Tieman service fleet sold to Wastech

One of the three Tieman Industries businesses has found a buyer

Wastech Engineering has agreed to acquire Tieman Industries’ national service business, retaining the company’s staff and fleet.

Under the Heads of Agreement, the Tieman National Service business will be rebranded as Wastech Field Service and continue with Tieman national branch operations manager Geoff Bent, who will report to Wastech Engineering CEO Brett Jones.

“Both brands are synonymous with quality and outstanding customer service; the natural synergies between the businesses are clearly evident,” Jones says.

According to Jones, Wastech will receive over 60 service vehicles across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in the deal, and a complete service solution to expand its own service fleet.

Wastech manufactures and services equipment for the Australian waste and recycling industry, focusing on compactors, balers, transfer stations, transfer trailers, waste chutes, rubbish trucks, and street sweepers.

Tieman Industries went into administration earlier this month after poor results in 2014, appointing KordaMentha Restructuring to handle the process.
