Lindsay joins Visy Board in logistics alliance

Transporter to gain packaging while partner gets warehousing and logistics synergies

 

Lindsay Australia and Visy Board have linked in a strategic partnership that will see the transport firm bolster its logistics and rural products businesses.

Under the deal, for which a value was not given, Lindsay will expand it expand transport and logistics services for Visy, while Visy will supply Lindsay cardboard packaging.

Specifically, Lindsay will transport packaging from factories to customers while creating warehousing and logistics synergies for both firms and undertake the transition for customers.

“The partnership with Visy . . . is good for growers and our business, which means it is also good for shareholders,” Lindsay managing director Kim Lindsay says.

“The partnership is an important part of our growth strategy to provice horticulture customers with competitve end-to-end solutions covering logistics, packaging, and transport.

The deal means Lindsay with terminate its distribution agreement with packaging product firm Orora.
