Lindsay Australia is buying fellow Queensland trucking firm Haack’s Transport for $600,000.

The deal includes taking over the lease of the bought company’s premises near Tully in north Queensland and Lindsay describes it as being part of its "ongoing strategic focus on providing specialist services to rural suppliers".

"This opportunity forms part of Lindsay Australia Limited’s ongoing strategic focus on providing specialist services to rural suppliers," managing director Kim Lindsay says.

"It’s an opportunity to harness additional local experience and connections combining them with the resourcing and capabilities of Lindsay Australia Limited."

Lindsay says Haack’s has a turnover for the refrigerated and general transport, warehousing and distribution services firm is about $5 million a year.

Settlement is expected by March 2 and former owner Eric Haack will be engaged as a consultant for two years to assist in marketing, customer transition and expanding the customer base.
