Labor adds freight to roads portfolio in NSW

Shadow treasurer Michael Daley gets some extra responsibility under the new opposition leader

With just a few months before the state election in New South Wales, newly-minted opposition leader Luke Foley has unveiled a slightly altered front bench.

Opposition spokeswoman on transport Penny Sharpe has retained her portfolio but the shadow minister for roads Michael Daley now has responsibility for freight explicitly included in his title.

Daley was roads minister in the previous Labor-led government in NSW.

Foley was elected opposition leader on January 4, replacing John Robertson. He has retained his shadow ministry for Western Sydney.

A spokesperson for Daley, who is also the shadow treasurer, was unavailable for comment today.
