The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has announced that its interim CEO Peter Anderson will take on the role permanently.

Anderson joined the VTA in late September this year, taking over from outgoing CEO Neil Chambers who was asked to step down after two years in the role.

The former CEO of the Scotts Group had hoped to extend the appointment beyond the interim stage.

VTA president Brendan Hopley says Anderson has already proved himself in the role through his advocacy efforts on behalf of VTA members and the broader transport community.

"The VTA executive council looks forward to him leading the association as it continues to deliver positive, best-practice outcomes for all members."

"With over 30 years’ experience in the transport industry and a long-standing relationship with the VTA, including past membership of the Executive Council, Anderson was an obvious choice to fulfil the role," Hopley says.
