Ebsworth steps into newly formed AHG role

Former Toll senior executive will oversee growing refrigerated operations

Former Toll domestic forwarding divisional director Paul Ebsworth remains in the industry.

Toll‘s loss, announce during its restructure unveiled in late May, has seen AHG gain a senior and experienced transport executive.

He steps into a new position at the vehicle sales and refrigerated logistics firm, that of chief operating officer (COO) east coast logistics.

Ebsworth takes over the running of one of the nation’s surging sector players, one that has moved with speed into a part of the industry that many operators have found difficult to gain good returns from.

AHG managing director Bronte Howson underlines the importance of this arm to his business, saying the appointment reflected the growing strength of the group’s logistics businesses.

“This is an exciting time for our Logistics businesses, with the recent acquisitions of Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways and JAT Refrigerated Road Services adding to our Rand and Harris capabilities and cementing the Group’s position as the largest refrigerated transport and cold storage provider in Australia,” Howson says.

“We are also a significant force in other logistics, with AMCAP, Covs, KTM, Husqvarna, GTB and VSE and Paul’s appointment further strengthens our strategic capabilities.”

Ebsworth will be based in Melbourne and report directly to Howson.

“AHG is already one of the largest service providers in Australian logistics and I’m confident we can deliver further growth while realising significant benefits from the synergies available across the Group’s business units,” Ebsworth says.
