Wyndham Council looks to freight road spend
Road projects have been flagged

A growing Victorian council plans to upgrade key roads that service the freight industry.

Wyndham City Council has set aside $28.9 million on roads in its proposed budget for the upgrade of Leakes and Dohertys roads amongst other projects.

Both roads service Laverton North and Truganina which are home to many freight companies.

The Council also plans to develop a local supply chain to make better connections between industrial businesses in Laverton North and in Hoppers Crossing.

Wyndham Mayor Bob Fairclough says the 2014/15 budget is one of the biggest capital works budgets in its history.
