Nominations are now open for the 2014 ATANSW industry awards.

ATANSW is the member organisation for NSW trucking operators, and these awards honour the commitment and achievements of the best people and organisations in the state’s trucking industry.

Jodie Broadbent, ATANSW Manager, says anyone involved in the NSW trucking industry can nominate a person or organisation for an award, provided they meet the award criteria.

Award categories include: Outstanding Contribution to the NSW Trucking Industry; NSW Professional Driver of the Year; and NSW Transport Woman of the Year.

"The winners will receive the respect of their peers, trophies, and, for the Woman of the Year, a black opal pendant from Lightning Ridge," Broadbent says.

"In addition, ATANSW will nominate the winners for the relevant category of the National Trucking Industry Awards.

"I urge everyone in the NSW trucking industry to consider nominating someone great. The winners of these awards set a standard of excellence and dedication for us all."

Previous winners of the ATANSW awards include Tony McGrath, founder of McGrath Newcastle; and Mike Moylan, General Manager – Operations at Johnstons Transport.

Nominations for the awards should be sent to jodie.broadbent@truck.net.au by 5pm on Thursday, April 24.
