The South Australian Road Transport Association (SARTA) has made its transport issues loud and clear in a recent meeting with the state’s new transport minister.
SARTA Executive Director Steve Shearer and President Sharon Middleton met with Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan last week, briefing him on burning issues such as better management of infrastructure planning and technical defects.
"Minister Mullighan is the fifth minister for transport with whom we have worked under the Labour Government and as with his predecessors it will take a while to work through the issues," Shearer says.
"We took the opportunity to brief the minister on the industry and how it works and to raise some core issues."
The pair has also met with Premier Jay Weatherill, Deputy Premier John Rau, Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis and Health Minister Jack Snelling.
