Michael Byrne to step down as Linfox CEO

Michael Byrne will leave Linfox after nine years as its CEO

The man who has helmed Linfox’s executive team for close to a decade will leave the company at the end of 2014.

Linfox Chairman Peter Fox announced today Michael Byrne has decided step down as CEO of the company after nine years in the role.

A search is due to begin for a successor to Byrne, who Fox praised for his “tremendous commitment and dedication to Linfox”.

“He has led the business through a period of unparalleled business growth,” Fox says.

“Michael has led massive improvements in safety, established an industry leading
sustainability program, a wide range of educational opportunities for our people, key advances in our IT capability and sharpened our focus on strategic partnerships with our customers across the Asia Pacific.”

Fox says Byrne will use the remaining months of his role helping to develop Linfox’s new five-year growth strategy.

News of Byrne’s departure came as Linfox appointed Gabrielle Costigan the new role as the CEO of Linfox Logistics Asia.

“Forming the CEO Asia role is a key step in our strategy to strengthen Linfox’s position as a supply chain leader across the Asia Pacific,” Fox says.

“Gabby joins Linfox with impressive logistics leadership roles in the aviation industry and in highly complex logistics environments for the Australian and US military. She will be responsible for efficiently managing our operations in Asia, developing our senior country manager team and expanding our Asia business footprint.”

Fox says Linfox is positioned to grow its brand as a leading supply chain services provider across the Asia Pacific.

“The business has tripled in size over the last decade and our sophistication as a supply chain service provider has grown exponentially,” he says.
