NRMA is calling on drivers to name their worst roads in a new survey

NRMA is calling on drivers in the Newcastle and Hunter region of New South Wales to name their worst roads in a new survey that aims to pressure politicians into improving the network.
Road users are being asked to identify crumbling roads in the Seeing Red on Roads survey in time before the federal election.
More than 25,000 drivers have expressed their views since the annual survey commenced in 2011, local NRMA Director Kyle Loades says.
“The fact that so many thousands of drivers respond to our survey each year shows that the state of our roads is of huge concern and it could sway the votes of some local drivers,” he says.
“The NRMA will use the results of the survey to call on local candidates to detail how they will make local roads safer.”
The five worst roads in the Hunter region that topped the 2012 list were the Pacific Highway at Bulahdelah, Broke Road at Pokolbin, Bucketts Way at Allworth, the New England Highway at Maitland and the F3 Freeway at Black Hill.
The survey will remain open until June 14.
