RACQ head public rally to support fuel subsidy

RACQ and major industry groups rally to reject threats of introducing new fuel taxes in Queensland

The RACQ and major industry groups are rallying in The Gap, Brisbane, at 10.00am today, to reject threats of introducing new fuel taxes.

The State Government’s failure to rule out scrapping Queensland’s fuel subsidy scheme in the upcoming Budget has re-united groups that successfully opposed its proposed removal in 2000.

Senior representatives of RACQ, Agforce, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland, Motor Trades Association of Queensland and the Queensland Trucking Association will all be participating in the public campaign.

They are calling on business owners, motorists, truckers and farmers to send the Government a message that the fuel subsidy has to stay.

The rally will be held at Matilda Fuels, 983 Waterworks Road, The Gap.
