Greyhound Australia set to launch a price offensive in the Brisbane freight market

Greyhound Australia is set to launch a price offensive in the Brisbane freight market.

The national coach company has been keeping the nation connected for more than 100 years and now customers can also save major dollars on parcel delivery by using Greyhound Freight.

CEO Robert Thomas says the company has unveiled a track-and-trace system allowing customers to track their parcels from pick up to delivery.

"We are committed to helping the country stay connected, from capital cities to the most remote parts of Australia and freight is just an extra service we offer our customers," he says.

"Our coaches operate every day, 365 days a year, on a reliable schedule so corporate customers and consumers can know exactly when their freight will arrive at its destination.

"Greyhound has also made a significant investment to ensure our freight customers can track their parcel accurately, by developing a world-class freight management system which lets our customers know what we have carried, where it is and when it will be delivered."

The new system can track parcels to more than 7,000 destinations around Australia, putting Greyhound a step ahead of its competitors.

By using Greyhound Freight companies and consumers can save more than 36 percent on their freight costs. For example, an average size parcel sent from Brisbane to Darwin would typically cost $73 but with Greyhound it’s only $47 (based on a 0.2m3 parcel when transported over a distance of 1,000km or more).

"Greyhound Freight is great for businesses moving freight as well as consumers, saving them money on large volume items and parcels," Thomas says.

"Greyhound doesn’t charge any additional surcharges, unlike many of our competitors, so the price you see is the price you’ll pay."
