Diamond Bros Transport founder Nik Diamond passes away

Diamond Bros Transport founder Nik Diamond has passed away from cancer.

The 81-year-old, who established the Adelaide-based business just two years after migrating from Greece in 1954, died on December 3.

Along with younger brother John, Diamond started the line-haul business with one truck.

His passing follows the death of the company’s Operations Manager Con Diamond on September 21 from cancer.

Con, along with his brother Chris and cousins Arthur and George, took over the business when their fathers retired.

The Diamonds were faced with a difficult task of succession planning when Con became ill.

The tightknit group tackled the challenge head-on and appointed a general manager to assist with the running of the business.

Con stepped back from running major projects as his health deteriorated, with his skills and knowledge passed on to the Diamonds.
