Condo’s Horse Transport played a key role behind the scenes in yesterday’s Melbourne Cup, with the company transporting one of the race favourites.

The Cranbourne-based transport company in Melbourne’s south-east, which was established three years ago, was responsible for getting horse Ethiopia from Cranbourne to the racetrack at Flemington yesterday.

Managing Director Garry Condon (pictured) says this year’s spring racing carnival is as busy as the 2013 event.

"We had five trucks at Flemington yesterday, two trucks at Echuca and one at Bairnsdale," he says.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Fiorente took out the Melbourne Cup yesterday, with Ethiopia placing seventh.
