The 2013 i98FM’s Camp Quality Convoy with Marty and Bianca, celebrating its ninth year, has attracted the support of one of Australia’s most popular singer-songwriters.

Held on November 17, the annual convoy of trucks and motorbikes will travel through the streets of NSW’s Illawarra region, culminating in the free Family Fun Day at the football fields located within the Croome Road Sporting Complex, Albion Park Rail.

To cap off the day, Guy Sebastian will headline the on-stage live entertainment at Croome Road.

Sebastian first came to prominence in 2003 winning the first ever Australian Idol. He has released seven albums, of which all have achieved platinum sales status in Australia, including his latest album Armageddon.

Sebastian, who owns a house in the Illawarra area, has been nominated in five categories at the upcoming ARIA awards on December 1.

Organisers are confident that the Illawarra community will again come together to raise funds for Camp Quality Illawarra who help to brighten the lives of kids living with cancer and their families.

Last year’s event saw 764 trucks and 926 motorbikes take part in the convoy with a total of $1,034,921.54 in funds raised, taking the grand total to more than $3.2 million dollars since the inaugural event in 2005.

This year’s convoy will depart under police escort from the Illawarra Coal’s West Cliff Colliery on Appin Rd at 8am and follow a route that will take them down Mt Ousley through Warrawong and past Stockland Shellharbour, then onto Croome Road, Albion Park Rail.

Jason Saladino, WIN Radio General Manager says the excitement is building as the date draws closer.

“We would love to see the Illawarra community get right behind it once again, whether it be registering a truck or bike, donating, watching the convoy roll by, attending the Family Fun Day, or even volunteering to help. Each year with your valued support, we are able to help more and more children and families within the Illawarra as they battle the challenges of childhood cancer,” Saladino says.

“Join us again on November 17 and help us create a better quality of life for these kids”.

The motorbikes and trucks will begin arriving at around 9am at the football fields within the Croome Road Sporting Complex, Albion Park Rail.

As well as Guy Sebastian and other live acts, the Family Fun Day will include stalls, rides and activities. Marty Haynes and Bianca Dye, i98FM’s breakfast hosts, will be hand to MC the entertainment.

Truck and motorbike registrations are available online at www.i98fm.com.au.
