Construction and heavy equipment firm Hastings Deering has opened a dedicated general construction store and on-highway truck centre in Mackay, Queensland.

The company, which distributes Caterpillar heavy equipment, says the facility services the individual equipment needs of non-mining clients and extends support for the region’s construction, infrastructure and transport sectors.

Located in the industrial hub of Paget, the truck centre has a dedicated parts department for on-highway trucks and provides a service and support for operators travelling through the region.

The centre has seven workshop bays and operates 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Hastings Deering says it has a lounge for drivers and offers bumper-to-bumper parts and servicing for all makes of American driveline trucks.

“The Mackay and Whitsundays region has experienced significant growth in civil and urban construction, along with on-highway transport growth,” manager Garth Smith says.

“The non-mining sectors need support and resources dedicated to their unique requirements. This new store is a one-stop shop for service, parts and product support, and provides more focus on the particular needs of these sectors.”

Hastings Deering says the construction store gives general construction customers access to key personnel for service, sales, rentals, product support, and parts expertise.
