International equipment sales concern Ritchie Bros Auctioneers is gearing up for the official opening of its new Geelong premises in March.

The event, to be hosted by the company’s visiting President, Rob Mackay, will coincide with a special auction featuring a strong new and used commercial vehicle presence, from light commercials to prime movers, and two trailers.

Of the trucks, 42 of the 54 on the block are unused Iveco vehicles of last year’s Daily, Stralis and Acco models.

The numbers compare favourably with Ritchie Bros two day auction in September when it was able to move 20 prime movers including four 2007 Western Star 4800FX 6x4s, along with two 2011 Volvo A40F 6×6 articulated dump trucks.

The new premises is understood to measure 2,415 sq m of auction space and 232 sq m of processing space.
