March 6, 2012

A B-double driver was fined $1,112 after allegedly driving 30km/h over the speed limit on the Hume Highway in NSW, police say.

The 41-year-old driver was fined after being stopped by police for allegedly speeding in Mittagong yesterday morning.

Police were patrolling the highway when they allegedly detected a white B-double travelling at a speed of 142km/h in a 110km/h zone.

They stopped the vehicle a short distance away and issued the driver with a traffic infringement for “exceed speed over 30km/h”.

Information on whether the truck’s speed-limiter was checked was awaited at deadline today.
