TLISC board elects new chairman

Linfox's D'Apice takes on top role as organisation launches new branding and website

November 28, 2011

The Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council (TLISC) has gained a new chairman in Linfox President, Human Resources, Laurie D’Apice.

Interim incumbent Jon Northorpe, who will remain on the board, handed over the reins late last week at the TLISC annual general meeting.

One of D’Apice’s first official duties was to unveil the organisation’s new branding and website – www.tlisc.org.au is its new address.

“TLISC has evolved dramatically over the last few years and plays a significant role in the T&L Industry,” CEO Robert Adams says.

“We felt it was time to refresh the public face of the organisation and enhance the service delivered to stakeholders by the website.”

D’Apice is a 20-year transport and logistics veteran whose previous positions, inside and outside the industry, have been with the likes of Qantas, Hawker De Haviland, Mayne Nickless and Aussie Home Loans.

He has been with Linfox for several years in a variety of senior management positions.

Earlier this year, he was one of the faces of Linfox for the Australian Employment Covenant, which aims to find 50,000 sustainable jobs for indigenous Australians.
