Victorian MP Fiona Richardson has slammed Transport Minister Terry Mulder for “sitting on his hands” on the Truck Action Plan

Victorian MP Fiona Richardson has slammed Transport Minister Terry Mulder for “sitting on his hands” on the Truck Action Plan.
“In respect to countless measures on the public transport network we have seen the minister either missing in action or prepared to deliver terrible outcomes for commuters,” Richardson says.
“Clearly what we are seeing here is that the minister has absolutely no plan whatsoever, just as is the case with public transport. He is sitting on his hands and costing road users dearly.”
She says the plan, which was shovel-ready, has been sidelined.
“Minuscule funding for road projects across the state has been delivered by the minister but in regional Victoria in particular there is a heavy price to pay for this minister’s inaction, despite the fact he calls regional Victoria home,” she says.
“Despite what he might think, this minister, who was once considered an alternative premier, has instead in the last 12 months become the Liberal government’s weakest link.
“There are no significant funds available; instead he has made cuts to his budget.”
Meanwhile, former roads minister Tim Pallas has expressed concern over the government’s recent infrastructure plan submission, saying it will not deliver one new road or any new capacity for public transport.
“This sham plan for more plans is squandering Victoria’s reputation as a leader in nation-building infrastructure,” Pallas says.
