Ballina Bypass to open next week

Stage two of the Ballina bypass on the Pacific Highway will open next week

November 24, 2011

Stage two of the Ballina bypass on the Pacific Highway will open next week.

The section of the upgrade, which runs from the Teven Road interchange to Cumbalum, will reduce travel times and improve safety, a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) spokesperson says.

The opening comes after the completion of the first stage of the upgrade – from Cumbalum to Ross Lane in March and the opening of the Teven Road roundabout in May.

The final stage of the upgrade, which includes a new connection to the Bruxner Highway, will be completed early next year.

The $640 million Ballina bypass is jointly funded by the federal and NSW governments.
