Online driver training and assessment tool to debut

Gold Coast firm says UK solution will measure risk around needs of individual drivers

A Queensland company is to launch a UK online professional driver training and risk assessment service this week.

Gold Coast firm Driver Safety.com.au says it has gained the Australian rights to the E-Training World online solution.

This includes online driver risk assessment, e-driver training, online eco-driving and manoeuvring courses and a web-based fleet risk management portal.

Driver Safety.com.au insists online driver risk assessments enables companies to better assess the needs of their drivers ensuring relevant and targeted driver training programs can be implemented.

"They are by far the most efficient and effective method of identifying driver risk and meeting vital health and safety requirements," Driver Safety.com.au General Manager Gary Rigg says.

"As companies aim to keep their costs down in continually challenging economic conditions, this online risk assessment tool provides organisations with an inexpensive means of investigating employees’ attitudes and behaviours towards driving and also provides a snapshot of a workplace’s overall level of risk on the roads.

"A risk profile for each driver is quickly created enabling targeted and tailored programs to be built around the individual needs of a driver rather than a blanket approach which can be very expensive with limited success.

"For example a person who is identified as having a high-risk driving profile would be provided with one-on-one in-car training."
