Fair Work heads to Adelaide on IR education mission

Fair Work Ombudsman inspectors will visit about 1,000 businesses in Adelaide between now and Christmas

August 2, 2011

Inspectors from the Fair Work Ombudsman are heading to Adelaide on a mission to educate about 1,000 small and medium-sized businesses about the national workplace relations system.

Inspectors will hand out information packs to employers previously covered by the South Australian industrial relations system. The visits will occur between August and Christmas.

Fair Work Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson says the informal visits aim to assist employers to understand national workplace laws, including employment standards and Modern Awards.

“Information packs being distributed include helpful resources such as fact sheets, templates and best practice guides – providing advice on practical steps employers can take to adjust to the federal system,” he says.
