ARTIO and RWTA link in NSW

Relationship to focus on policy, regulations, industrial tribunals and workplace relations

August 22, 2011

The Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation (ARTIO) NSW Branch and the Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Association NSW (RWTA NSW) have sealed a service agreement, the organisations revealed today.

The ARTIO NSW will provide workplace relations advice to RWTA NSW members enabling them to be “kept up to date with important developments in industrial tribunals as well as new policy and legislation in areas related to workplace relations”.

ARTIO NSW Secretary/Treasurer Hugh McMaster and the RWTA NSW Secretary John Howell say their organisations have linked over several months for industry briefings and the provision by ARTIO NSW of other information and advice.

“This gave RWTA NSW an indication of ARTIO NSW’s capability to evaluate its needs and expectations of us,” McMaster says.

Under the agreement, RWTA NSW members can join ARTIO NSW as associate members without affecting in any way their membership of RWTA NSW.

The service agreement will be subject to regular review by both organisations to ensure it continues to work for the benefit of their respective memberships.

“ARTIO NSW has been providing RWTA NSW with an attractive service offering which is why we signed up to this service agreement,” Howell says.
