July 14, 2011

A truck driver has been airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne after losing control of his prime mover and semi-trailer today.

The 60-year-old was carrying hay bales when he lost control over a bend at Brucknell, tipping over and crashing into a tree.

He is in a stable condition with abdominal injuries.

Meanwhile, two concrete pipes have fallen from a truck on Melbourne’s Westgate Freeway in Altona. The truck lost the pipes about 7am while travelling inbound.

The accident caused heavy delays from the Forsyth Road to the West Gate Freeway.
