The transport and logistics sector has been recognised among more than 100 organisations as part of the 2011 Australian Business Awards.

In its sixth year, the awards noted the efforts of Queensland Rail, Interactive Freight Systems and ComfortDelGro Cabcharge.

QR collected the Innovation, Recommended Employer and Community Contribution awards, with the latter recognising organisations which implement projects that positively affect the community and generate long-term benefits.

ComfortDelGro Cabcharge, which operates a bus fleet of 1,120 in Sydney, took home the award for Project Management.

Interactive Freight Systems scooped up the Best E-Business Product and Best Software Product awards for its transport management system, which allows organisations to choose the freight company or services that best suit their needs.

Open to organisations across private, public and non-profit sectors, the 2011 ceremony involved 928 organisations and recognised 103.

“We would like to congratulate all the 2011 winners for achieving exceptional results within the respective award categories,” Australian Business Award Program Director Tara Johnston says.
