Melbourne woman hospitalised after being thrown into the air by a truck in the Burnley Tunnel

June 10, 2011

A woman has been taken to hospital in Melbourne after she was sent flying into the air by a truck in the Burnley Tunnel.

The woman was with two other motorists outside their vehicles after a minor collision. The truck collided with one of the stationary vehicles, throwing the woman into the air and fracturing her pelvis.

Another man was also injured.

Two outbound lanes were closed due to the accident, which caused traffic delays back to the West Gate Bridge for about 90 minutes.
