NSW groceries and Perth property contracts signed with long-term customers

Linfox had two reasons to celebrate yesterday, having retained a Coles contract and seen progress on its Western Australian expansion.

Linfox CEO Michael Byrne says Linfox will continue distribution of ambient groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled and frozen produce and alcohol to Coles and Liquorland stores in Sydney and regional NSW.

"The new five-year agreement builds on a Coles-Linfox partnership that spans nearly five decades," he adds.

Linfox also provides warehousing and distribution for Victorian Coles stores.

Meanwhile, Linfox Logistics will see the development of a 27,085sqm distribution centre at Goodman Australia Industrial Fund’s Stockyards Industrial Estate in the Perth suburb of Hazelmere.

The purpose-built facility includes a 25,235sqm warehouse with 1,850 square metre office and ancillary space on an 8ha site, with Linfox committing to an initial 10-year lease term.

Due for completion next March, what Goodman says will be "one of the largest industrial facilities in the Perth area" is expected to be worth $55.8 million.

Stockyards is also home to a 10,736sqm MTU Detroit Diesel facility, as of April last year, and a 16,295sqm facility for Toll IPEC since last October.

By this September, it will host a 41,378sqm for Coca-Cola Amatil.

Stockyards represents the latest in a long-term relationship between Linfox and Goodman across 10 years and all mainland states.
