Transport identity Lindsay Fox has taken a leading role in efforts to secure a new free trade agreement between Australia and India.

Fox has been appointed the co-chair of the Australia-India CEO Forum, which provides business guidance and advice to the Australian and Indian governments as they negotiate an agreement.

The forum was announced last month by Trade Minister Craig Emerson. India is already Australia’s third largest export market.

Along with the head of India’s Jindal Group, Naveen Jindal, Fox will help oversee the forum.

“Linfox has established a strong market position in India’s supply chain industry. I look forward to working with Indian and Australian business leaders to strengthen the economic ties between our two countries,” Fox says.
