May 12, 2011

Registrations will soon close for the next round of the highly successful Women Moving Forward program, which mentors women in the transport and logistics industry.

Run by the Australian Logistics Council and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILTA), registrations for the program close on June 3.

Two programs helping more than 130 women succeed in the male-dominated industry have previously been held, and the latest one begins on June 23.

Women Moving Forward is the largest mentoring program for women in the transport and logistics industry and is focused on the retention and development of women

It is open to all women within the industry undertaking any role.

The program has gained the financial backing of the Federal Government, which will provide a $200 subsidy to the first 70 participants who register.

Without the subsidy, the full cost of the scheme for CILTA members is $735.50 and $795 for non-members.

The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Queensland Office for Women and the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority also support the program.

Companies such as ANL Container Line and DP World have enrolled a number of their staff to participate.
