Former TNT finance director Stewart Cummins has been appointed chief financial officer of Transpacific Industries as part of a board renewal process announced late last year.

Set to take up the role on May 23, Cummins was most recently the finance director of TNT Express in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, a position he has held since 2005.

Prior to joining TNT, Cummins held senior financial roles with companies including Caltex Australia and Dairy Farmers.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Transpacific Industries CEO Kevin Campbell says he is "delighted" to welcome Cummins to the company.

"His extensive knowledge of the transport and logistics and oil refining sectors together with his financial management and capital markets experience will further strengthen the TPI management team," he says.

Campbell, who was formerly global director and CFO of Visy Industries, took up the CEO position at TPI in January this year.

Headquartered in Milton, Brisbane, Transpacific is a leading provider of recycling, industrial services and waste management solutions.
