Wagga Wagga City Council has advertised for an Expression of Interest for the management of the Australian Truck Drivers’ Memorial Wall at Tarcutta.

According to the council website, applications are being sought from parties interested in the management of the memorial wall and reflective gardens, at Sydney Road, Tarcutta. The council says a five year licence may be offered to the successful applicant.

The council says licence agreements for the use of public facilities can only be entered into with organisations who are an incorporated association or equivalent, are a not-for-profit community-based organisation, and have open membership to the general public.

Submissions, which close on March 18, must be either hand delivered to the Council’s Tender Box at Wagga Wagga’s Civic Centre, or sent through the mail.

The memorial is currently run by the six-person Australian Truck Drivers Memorial committee, which includes Chairman Doug McMillan and Vice Chair Keith Thompson.
