Truckline accelerates into V8 Ute series

Ryan Hansford to steer Truckline Racing in Supercars support races

By Rob McKay | March 9, 2011

Truck parts specialist Truckline has sealed a V8 Ute Racing Series sponsorship for this year’s season.

The deal will see Ryan Hansford steer Truckline Racing in eight rounds across all the states, with the first race to take place at the Clipsal 500 at Adelaide Parklands, South Australia from March 17-20.

The ute series supports the V8 Supercars.

The company is obviously excited by the initiative that will see Hansford, son of the noted motorcycle and car-racing identity, the late Gregg Hansford, as the face of Truckline in the sport.

“With Ryan’s personality, talent, charisma and racing genes, he will no doubt be a great ambassador for Truckline,” General Manager Grant Adam says.

The view is shared by Marketing Manager Jackie Perris.

“It will provide exceptional coverage for Truckline in a sport followed by many in our industry,” Perris says of the deal.

This year is shaping up to be a busy one for the link between the various sectors of the trucking industry and sports sponsorship in general – and motor racing in particular.

ATN will explore the relationships between the two in a major feature in April’s edition of the magazine.
