Rachel Nolan shunted out of the transport portfolio in Queensland, but Craig Wallace remains roads minister

February 21, 2011

Rachel Nolan has been shunted out of the transport portfolio in Queensland, but Premier Anna Bligh has kept Craig Wallace as the Minister for Main Roads.

Bligh has restructured her Cabinet in the wake of floods and Cyclone Yasi, saying it is the right team to get on with rebuilding the state.

Annastacia Palaszczuk is the new Minister for Transport and Multicultural Affairs, while Nolan will now take on finance and arts.

Cameron Dick has made way for Deputy Premier Paul Lucas, who will now take on the responsibility of attornery-general. Dick has retained his industrial relations portfolio. Treasurer Andrew Fraser is still responsible for Queensland’s finances.

“My message to the new Cabinet is clear: We each have two priorities this year – rebuilding and delivering,” Bligh says.

“We face an enormous task this year as we get on with the job of rebuilding Queensland after the dual disasters of widespread flooding and Tropical Cyclone Yasi.”
