Great Western Highway closed to trucks after a fatal crash at Blaxland in NSW today

Trucking operators using the Great Western Highway at Blaxland in NSW are likely to face significant delays following a fatal crash early today.

A man died in the Blue Mountains about 1.40am after his car collided with a truck.

A crime scene has been set up and police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.

"Local diversions are in place at Wilson Way and into Layton Avenue, however, the Great Western Highway will remain closed to all heavy vehicles," NSW Police says in a statement.

Heavy vehicle drivers are being urged to use the Bells Line of Road.
